We were at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh having dinner, and enjoying an absolutely amazing trip, when a friend got a phone call and was informed of the bombings in Dahab. I felt furious of such actions. I think of the innocent people that have fallen victims of
this shocking event, and I see pain, suffering and agony. Egyptians or non-Egyptians, that doesn’t matter. What matters is that they haven’t done anything to deserve to be fatalities of such idiotic beliefs.
With an eye full of tears, I would like to send my condolences to all the families that have suffered the loss of their loved ones in the dreadful bombings of Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, and Dahab. May God be with you during this sad time our nation is going through, and I wish to remind those who survived them, that this is an opportunity to continue a better life keeping in mind that they were given a chance to make a difference.
Are we going to do anything about it? Are we just going to sit and watch those cowards blow our countries up? NO, I don’t think so. I think we should respond with all our powers. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean blow ourselves like they do. I say we act against it, speak up, and say what we have to say. Words can have a great effect on people who have the authority to stop this nonsense. We need to put our hands together and work as one nation to spread the peace, not only in Egypt, but in any country that has been targeted by all kinds of terrorism.
If every person puts a little effort to contribute in helping to stop the violence, our countries will remain safe. These are just my words, words of a 21 year old who hasn’t even lived in Egypt, but definitely Egypt lives in his heart.
I was there. I saw the people’s reaction. I felt the terror that the 70 million Egyptians or so living on this land had felt. I can say now that it is time to get up and do something to save the lives of the innocent people that are being harmed because of the actions of an entity that wants to destroy every hope of living in peace and harmony with each other. To those who want to put us down, I say NO. I say no with my heart, I say NO with my mind, and I say NO with my pen.
They want to harm our countries, our economies, our beliefs, and our safety. They want to shake us down. They want us to fear living our normal lives. I say HELL NO to that. They can’t, they won’t, and they will never be able to.
Remember, these are just the words of an average Egyptian who loves every sand particle on the land of this country. It is just a wake up call to everyone, whom if they act against these actions, will put those criminals down. Hand in hand, we can change the future of our countries and make a difference, so let us do so now, before it is too late.
